BUILDING on the interactive Vans & Trucks digital guide launched in 2022, Europcar has further invested in processes to make the operational experience behind rental as transparent and simple as possible.

An online Fair Wear & Tear Guide designed specifically for Van users has been introduced. This clearly identifies the ‘zones’ for in-life and return conditions for the Europcar van fleet in order to reduce uncertainty over damage charges.

A new Delivery & Collection app for Europcar agents removes delays and uncertainty from the vehicle handover and return process. With a focus on transparency about vehicle condition and fuel levels, the new app enables digital images to be taken at the point of handover, with all pre-existing damage noted accurately and fuel gauge/EV battery level reading recorded.

With all data held in one place with driver signatures, this simplifies the handover process as well as provides clarity for any additional charges at the end of the rental.

In 2024 this app will be enhanced with geo-messaging to inform customers of the ETA for vehicle delivery – a significant game-changer in the van rental marketplace.

Another important initiative to remove stress and delay should a driver experience a vehicle fault or be involved in an incident is the Europcar Assistance smart-phone friendly web tool. This provides access to incident support and breakdown assistance as well as vehicle support, such as definitions of warning lights and information on the specific make and model of the vehicle being driven.
