With the rise of staycations in the last few years, many people are now looking for vehicles that they can live and travel in. When you have a vehicle that will also allow you to travel long distances and sleep in, it gives you the chance to explore new places, plan road trips and spend more time in nature. So, what kind of vehicles can you live in while travelling?

Small Cars

You do not necessarily have to have a large vehicle to travel long distances and many small cars will suffice for a road trip, especially if it is just one or two of you. They may not have the same facilities as a camper van, but often there will be fold-flat rear and passenger seats that can help to create more space. Climate control is also a handy feature if travelling in extreme climates, which newer car models like the Vauxhall Corsa-e are now equipped with.

Minivan

Minivans are one of the most popular options as they can provide you with a livable space, but they are still relatively small, easy to drive and can be affordable. You can comfortably take a group of people in a minivan, and you can usually create a flat floor for sleeping by folding the seats down. Minivans are also easy to maintain and there are lots of good all-wheel drive options.

Campervan

Campervan sales have exploded during the pandemic as they can provide people with a home on wheels, which allows people to enjoy staycations throughout the year. Campervans are smaller and more affordable than an RV but still provide ample space with a range of features and amenities that allow for comfortable living while on the road. You can also convert a camper van yourself, which would be a smart way to save money and a project that is good fun.

SUVs

SUVs have become a major trend in recent times, and this is for good reason. These large cars are comfortable, have plenty of storage space and are capable of off-road driving. This means that SUVs are one of the best vehicles for long-distance travelling with new models offering plenty of interior space along with luggage compartment covers, tyre monitoring systems and driver-assisting technology. As they are a regular (but large) car, you will find that they are easy to drive, and parking will not be as much of an issue.

As you can see, you have a lot of choices when it comes to vehicles that you can live in while travelling. Many people are turning to staycations right now and this is for good reason, but you need to make sure that you have a suitable vehicle that will be comfortable and offer enough space for storage and sleeping.
