Logistics UK has launched a new service to help van operators access accurate CO2 emissions data. The “Emissions Reporting for Transport” service is available to all Logistics UK members and aims to support their net zero journey while helping them meet regulatory compliance and customer sustainability requirements.

Many logistics companies are already trialling or adopting alternative fuels and technologies for their van fleets, but accurate emissions data is crucial for informed decision-making. As businesses increasingly need to report their indirect Scope 3 carbon emissions, van operators will need to provide this information to their customers, with many smaller operators currently lacking the resources to generate accurate reports.

“Our members recognise the long-term benefits of carbon reporting and understand the need to measure CO2 emissions to provide trusted records that their decarbonisation plans are effective,” said Al Richardson, head of membership & affinities at Logistics UK. “We are excited to partner with BearingPoint to offer this valuable service to our members and with the increasing need for accurate carbon footprint calculations, our members will benefit greatly from the detailed emissions reporting provided by BearingPoint’s technology.”

The service is delivered through a partnership with BearingPoint, which provides a comprehensive carbon management solution. “Creating greater transparency is the key to our approach,” said Richard Walters, senior manager at BearingPoint. “You cannot manage what you do not measure, and that is where our leading-edge solution comes in. We are proud to support Logistics UK in its mission to improve sustainability in the logistics sector.”
