IT’S DEFINITELY a bonus when your van helps to get your business noticed. So when Nottingham-based brickwork firm Barnes & West ordered two short-wheelbase and one long-wheelbase Transit Connect models with internal modifications and eye-catching livery, Ford’s ‘one-stop shop’ provided the perfect solution.
The vans were specified in vibrant Mars red, a standard Ford colour, but the dealer’s decal designer used some creative thinking and added dark cream paint to represent brick mortar. With the company name and contacts details sign-written, the finished result gives Barnes & West eye-catching livery that stands out from the crowd.
The Transit Connect vans were supplied by Sandicliffe Ford dealership and are all top-of-the-range Limited models with alloy wheels, air-conditioning and Bluetooth connectivity as standard. The load area has been fully ply-lined and specialist roof racks have been fitted to allow large load carrying. Vehicle tracking devices have been installed for added security.
Sandicliffe Ford sales manager David Haynes told Business Vans: “It’s all part of the ‘one-stop shop’ service that we offer. For customers like that we can do everything, unlike some other retailers, and it means we can deliver vehicles that are ready for action right from the off.
“These vans look fantastic and demonstrate how the expanding range of Ford commercial vehicles can be tailored to work perfectly for small business van users, no matter what the requirement,” he said.
Colin Barnes, owner of Barnes & West, has operated more than 30 Ford vehicles during the three decades in which the company has been in business.

“They’re reliable, spares are readily available and with all the extras, they do the job for us,” He said. He also commended Sandicliffe Ford, adding: “I like that they manage everything for us, it’s very easy and allows me to just turn up and collect them.”
