A NEW fast-change graphics service from Mediafleet allows advertising campaigns on light commercial vehicles to be changed regularly, at low cost and with minimum operational disruption.

The company said that AdVantage opens up a new range of on-van advertising possibilities, creating a new means of marketing short-term promotions for operators.

When the van livery design is first created for a customer by Mediafleet’s internal design resource areas of generic static branding and areas for replaceable graphics are defined.

Whenever the customer wants to make a change, the fitting is carried out by a nationwide network of fitters to agreed timings. The materials used allow for rapid installation and, if no current campaign is needed, the flexible space can be used for normal branding.

Barnaby Smith, managing director, at Mediafleet, said: “We’re calling this a whole new advertising medium and I don’t think that is an exaggeration. In terms of on-vehicle graphics, vans are often described as mobile billboards but real billboards are regularly changed. AdVantage allows that to happen to commercial vehicles for the first time.

“For all kinds of companies that run periodic marketing campaigns, this is an excellent new opportunity. The possibilities could range from fashion to events and short term promotions on products and services stretching from television to broadband. It is very flexible.”

Smith said that the introduction of AdVantage had been made possible by an emerging combination of technical advances and Mediafleet’s operational capabilities.

“It is only relatively recently that the graphics vinyls used on vans have become sufficiently flexible to allow this kind of service, alongside our nationwide fitting service.

‘We are already receiving a lot of interest from existing and potential customers, who have been very quick to spot the possibilities and the potential. There’s a definite buzz.”
