LEASEPLAN UK does not believe in standing still. Despite the prevailing challenges presented by Brexit and Covid-19, it has kept on innovating throughout 2021 and beyond – taking its award-winning LCV offering to even greater heights with a raft of new products and services, each built with the business van customer in mind.

This is why Leaseplan was awarded Best Van Leasing Company in this year’s Business Van Awards. Catering for all size of van fleets – from the smallest SME to the largest corporate – its business van leasing proposition covers everything, end to end, from pre-order fleet audit and custom build/conversion to fair and transparent end-of-contract management.

In between, it offers a comprehensive package of in-life management features, including specialist van consultancy services, enhanced fleet reporting, and a superior, multi-tier approach to downtime optimisation.

Leaseplan was also the UK’s first leasing company to gain FORS vehicle hire company accreditation – giving customers confidence and assurance that vehicles are maintained and managed in accordance with FORS’ rigorous operational standards.

Great van leasing relies on a great support structure, and Leaseplan provides this through a range of mechanisms, including:

  • Multi-tier approach to downtime management
  • Bespoke van consultancy.
  • Sustainability-focused van fleet reviews.
  • eLCV support mechanisms.
  • Proactive approach to dealing with ongoing van supply issues.
  • Dedicated van rental services (daily and mid-term).
  • Business-wide expertise.
  • LCV-specialised account management.

Key innovations over the past 12 months include the deployment of an eight-strong, in-house vehicle utilisation and escalations (VUE) team, which has • Become an internal point-of-contact, providing technical, cradle-to-grave support for customers who don’t yet use Leaseplan’s VOR management tool.

It has also introduced reporting on VOR by category and developed relationships with internal supply-chain teams to pre-emptively manage issues uncovered through the team’s VOR analysis, for instance, to expedite delivery of back-ordered parts.

Leaseplan has assumed direct VOR management for key accounts, providing a dedicated point-of-contact alongside weekly reporting and started reviewing/enhancing other VOR processes to accelerate continuous improvement.

It has also launched a trio of intuitive, free-to-access online tools to help business van operators determine the viability of going electric  plus a at-a-glance, easy-to-filter clean air zone (CAZ) database, designed to help users swiftly identify charges/other measures being applied in different CAZs.

There have also been extensive improvements to Leaseplan’s online reporting tool, My Fleet, new features which include a dashboard redesign, offering much-improved navigation and increased functionality – all based on customer feedback – including a bookmarking function that allows time-poor van fleet operators to schedule reports to be sent to them automatically, thereby taking the onus off them to remember to log in at specific times.

It provides direct access to ‘My Vehicle Check’ van safety reports which have now been integrated into My Fleet. Moreover, the tool also proactively notifies a service partner whenever a vehicle defect is raised.)
