COMMERCIAL vehicle rental and sales specialist, MV Commercial, has expanded its offering by investing in a new £3m van centre, to meet increasing customer and prospect demand.

The new 1.5-acre site on Houstoun Industrial Estate in Livingston, is strategically located just off J3 on the M8 in the central Scottish belt and hosts a range of vehicles including standard panel vans, Lutons, dropsiders, and welfare units, as well as a select stock of dry freight units.

On-site facilities include a valet marquee, wash bay and main office complex. The centre is situated just 30-minutes from MV Commercial’s central hub in Airdrie, giving access to the company’s 90,000 sq. ft of internal workspace, finance, maintenance, engineering, fabrication and painting facilities.

Steven Cairns, Managing Director of MV Commercial, says: “Traditionally, MV Commercial has specialised in the supply of HGVs, including bespoke units and crane trucks. However we have seen increased demand for vans and LCVs from both our existing and new customer base grow over the last 12 months and ensuring customers had access to them became more important than ever.

“Whilst this expansion further extends our core vehicle provision capabilities our ethos remains the same and that is delivering cost-effective solutions for our customers’ vehicle needs.

“All of our late registered vehicles come directly from our vast existing hire fleet and have all been maintained by our in-house service and support teams, thereby ensuring we are providing customers with the highest possible quality.”

The expansion is expected to create 12 new jobs in the area and follows a period of continued growth for the company, which was recently named as Commercial Motor’s Independent Dealer of the Year and one of the London Stock Exchange Group’s ‘1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain’ in 2020.

Founded in 2001, MV Commercial has built its reputation as a major UK supplier of purpose-built commercial vehicles, including crane-mounted rigids, tractor units, tippers & grabs, and recovery vehicles in addition to box vans, curtains and mainstream tractor units and light commercial vehicles. The business also has depots across the UK, in Airdrie, Luton, Haydock, Livingston and a new depot coming soon to Oxford.
