SsangYong’s Korando Sports pick-up has always been more comfortable than most, but now it’s upped its game in practicality too
SSANGYONG’S Korando Sports pick-up has been upgraded with increased towing capacity and new hard tops, and the Korando Commercial crossover has been given a new look and interior.
The SsangYong Korando Sports pick-up, launched just over a year ago, differs from most commercial pick-ups not just in styling, but also with multi-link rear suspension providing a car-like ride. The SsangYong double-cab interior is also refined and well equipped.
There’s a choice of 3 new hardtops to go with the pick-up
There are two models on offer. The SX is equipped with tinted glass, air conditioning, leather-covered steering wheel, remote central locking, Kenwood MP3 CD & RDS radio with a USB & auxiliary port and Bluetooth connectivity and 16in alloy wheels. The latest model has also been given speed-sensitive power-assisted steering.
The EX model is equipped with new 18in alloy wheels, and includes a luxury touch with leather upholstery and heated front seats, powered driver’s seat. Heated, electrically adjustable and power folding door mirrors and rear parking sensors are also standard. Six-speed automatic transmission with cruise control is available as an option.
Towing capacity has been uprated from 2300kg to 2700kg.
The three new hard tops add features that include a sliding front window for ventilation and access to the pick-up’s rear window, plus a heated rear window and hinged side windows.
The hard top hatch locks with the car’s central locking system and opens without having to lower the tailgate. The hard top prices start from £1380 ex-VAT.
The Korando Sports is powered by SsangYong’s 2-litre Euro 5 e-XDi diesel engine, which provides maximum power of 155hp and peak torque of 360Nm. Stated fuel consumption is up to 37.7 mpg on the combined cycle.
