Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has recognised the achievements of the top performers in its UK network at its first virtual awards event.

While COVID-19 meant the usual black tie ‘do’ was not possible, the virtual event allowed staff from across the brand’s 63 Van Centres and 33 Authorised Repairers to celebrate safely together in their Centres, with a new video format enabling teams to see what their colleagues had done and how they had adapted to ‘the new norm’.

Six category awards were given to recognise performance across a number of key areas, from new and used sales performance to customer experience. There were also three Top Performing Van Centre accolades, given to the top three overall performers, measured against a spectrum of criteria.

The event also saw three people awarded the brand’s prestigious Gold Pin: David Cowan, Brand Director at Volkswagen Van Centre, Liverpool; Hamish Mackay from Hawco Van Centre in Inverness; and Craig Mellors from JCT600 Van Centre, Sheffield. These accolades are given to members of staff from across the network who have demonstrated exceptional and often long service to the brand.
