NISSAN has just announced prices and specs for the Nissan e-NV200 range of electric vans which will be available from July.
Nissan says that the e-NV200 costs 2 pence per mile to run
Prices start from a very reasonable sounding £13,393, but because we’re talking electric, there are two complicating factors – the government grant towards buying electric vehicles, and the option of leasing the battery pack, which reduces the initial purchase price in return for a monthly rental fee.
The table on the next page gives a couple of examples of how this affects the price.
Once you got one, Nissan says that the e-NV200 costs 2 pence per mile to run – making a saving of £2500 on fuel over 4 years covering 9375 miles a year.
Maintenance costs over the same period should be £575 less than for an equivalent diesel van.
The Nissan e-NV200 will come in panel van and combi forms, with two basic trim levels – Acenta and Tekna.
There are nine models across the range topping out at £31,309 if you buy a Tekna Rapid Plus without any grant and including the battery.
